Land’s End is the rock point at the tip of Baja where the Pacific hits the Sea of Cortez. The photo everyone wants is El Arco. You get there by water. Sandos Finisterra sits on that cliff. The marina, where the boats leave, is about a 10-minute walk.
This is the trip people search as “Land’s End tours,” “Land’s End boat tours,” and “Lands End tour Cabo.” It is not a desert ATV day. It is an hour or two on the water.

What you actually see
El Arco. The natural stone arch at the tip. Boats idle for photos. Late afternoon light is better than noon.
Lover’s Beach (Playa del Amor). The Sea of Cortez pocket. Calm enough to swim. No bathrooms, no vendors. Bring water and shoes for the rocks. Water taxis come back on a schedule you agree when you land.
Divorce Beach. The Pacific side of the same rocks. Huge, pretty, not a swim. Currents here are why Finisterra’s Pacific beach is a view, not a pool.
Sea lions. They haul out on the rocks near the arch most days. Do not try to touch them from the boat.
Pelican Rock. Shallow snorkel stop on many combo tours. Fish, not whales. Whale watching is a different boat and a different season (December–April). See whale watching in Los Cabos.
Three ways to do it
Water taxi. Cheapest. Marina to Lover’s Beach, they pick you up later. You skip the long narration. Good if you only want the beach and the arch photo on the way.
Shared Land’s End boat (1–2 hours). Arch, Divorce Beach viewpoint, sea lions, often a snorkel stop. This is what most Finisterra guests mean by “the Land’s End tour.”
Sunset sail past the arch. Catamaran or sailboat, open bar, the Pacific sunset. Same rocks, more of a drink cruise. Book this if the presentation morning is already used and you want the evening.
Private pangas cost more and leave when you want. Fine for two couples. Not required.
From Sandos Finisterra
You do not need a hotel transfer. Walk downhill to the marina. If you want the boat to wait, or you want snorkeling gear included, use Seek & Go so you are not haggling on the dock after a 90–120 minute Royal Elite preview.
Return transfer to SJD is not in the promo package. That is a separate Seek & Go ride, usually $75–$100.
Pacific swimming at the resort: no. Use the marina-side beach or Medano (about 15 minutes on foot) if you want to swim after the boat.
When it is worth it
Any month with decent seas. Morning water is usually flatter. Hurricane season is June–October; September is the messy month. Whale season (December–April) is a different product. Do not expect a Land’s End taxi to become a whale trip.
If you only have one afternoon after the presentation, do Land’s End. Save ATVs and Todos Santos for a 5-night stay.
