MUSA Underwater Museum Cancun
MUSA (Museo Subacuático de Arte) is a sculpture garden on the seafloor in the marine park off Cancun and Isla Mujeres. Hundreds of pieces. Fish use them as reef. You look at them from a snorkel or a tank.
It is the Cancun day that is not a club, not a ruin, and not Xcaret. Good fit for Sandos Cancun (18+) and for anyone who already did the beach.

Snorkel or dive
Snorkel. You stay on the surface. You see the tops of the pieces and the fish. Shorter, cheaper, no certification. Fine for a first look.
Dive. The sculptures were made to be seen close. Two common sites (Manchones and others) sit at roughly 25–60 feet. Open-water certified guests get the real visit. Resort “try dive” is a different product; ask Seek & Go which boat you are on.
Tours run about 2.5–4 hours dock to dock. Morning water is usually clearer.
This is not Xel-Há. Xel-Há is a park with a river and restaurants. MUSA is a boat, a site, and back.
From Sandos Cancun
Boats leave Hotel Zone / marina docks, not the Sandos beach. You need a short transfer. Seek & Go picks up at the resort and puts you on a boat that already has gear.
Do not stack MUSA and a 90–120 minute Royal Elite presentation the same morning. Do MUSA the next day.
Playacar / Caracol guests can still go. It is a longer transfer. From those resorts, a cenote or Cozumel reef day is closer to the room.
What to bring
Reef-safe sunscreen (put it on 20 minutes before you get in). Strap for glasses. Motion-sickness tablet if the lagoon chop bothers you. A shirt for the boat ride back.
You will not touch the sculptures. That is the rule and it is why the fish are still there.
Pair it or don’t
Good pair: MUSA morning, Hotel Zone afternoon, dinner at the resort.
Bad pair: MUSA + Chichén Itzá. That is a 2.5-hour inland drive plus a boat. Pick one.
If you want more water: Punta Nizuc snorkel is shallower and cheaper. Isla Mujeres can include a reef stop. See the Isla Mujeres day trip.
