Here’s how the system works, where the best 2026 inventory lives, and how to get into it without booking through an airport kiosk or some sketchy timeshare resale operation.
The model is simple and it’s been the same for decades:
The discount versus what you’d pay on Hotels.com for the same property runs 50–73%. No coupon code gets you there. No loyalty program either. This is the mechanism the resorts actually use.
The highest-volume market. The most presentation slots available, the most competitive pricing, the widest range of package lengths.

Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos is the Royal Elite property here. Land’s End location — the Pacific on one side, the Sea of Cortez on the other. Promotional packages here price at a premium versus Cancún inventory because Los Cabos is a higher-cost market generally. Worth it for the setting.
Krystal Puerto Vallarta operates a vacation club program on the Pacific coast. Less competitive on pricing than Cancún but a completely different atmosphere — older, calmer, more independent traveler profile.
The qualification threshold is consistent across virtually all Mexico vacation club programs:
Single travelers and groups of more than two couples don’t qualify for standard promotional rates. Some properties have separate programs for different party configurations, but the couples-only rate is the deal.
Don’t touch the timeshare kiosks at the Cancún airport. Don’t book through a booth on the resort strip. These are often legitimate operations, but you’re adding a middleman who doesn’t have the best inventory or the clearest terms.
