Cancun Tours & Excursions

For guests at Sandos Cancun (Adults Only)

Sandos Cancun sits in the heart of the Hotel Zone — perfectly positioned for both adventure and nightlife. The Seek & Go desk in your resort lobby can book any of these experiences, or reach them directly via WhatsApp at +52 984 152 4671.

Everything below includes round-trip transportation from your resort.

Xcaret Parks

The Xcaret Group’s eco-parks are 45–90 minutes south of Cancun, down the coastal highway toward Playa del Carmen and Tulum.

Xcaret — The original and biggest. Underground rivers, snorkeling cove, wildlife exhibits, butterfly pavilion, tequila tasting, and the “Mexico Espectacular” evening show featuring 300+ performers. Plan for a full day into evening.

Xel-Há — All-inclusive natural water park in a massive coastal inlet. Unlimited snorkeling, cliff jumping, floating, plus unlimited food and drinks. No gear needed — just show up hungry.

Xplor — Pure adrenaline. Fourteen zip-lines (some over a mile long), amphibious vehicles through jungle caves, underground river swimming with headlamps. The most popular adventure park in Mexico.

Xplor Fuego — Same activities as Xplor, but after dark with torches, bonfires, and a completely different atmosphere. Runs evenings only.

Xenotes — Small-group cenote tour visiting four different cenote types. Rappel, zip-line, kayak, and swim in crystal-clear freshwater sinkholes in the jungle. Includes a gourmet picnic lunch.

Xenses — Sensory park with optical illusions, underground rivers, zip-lines, and mud baths. Lower intensity than Xplor, great for a half-day.

Xoximilco — Evening floating party on colorful Mexican gondolas with mariachi bands, tequila, traditional food, and dancing. Captures the spirit of Mexico City’s famous Xochimilco canals.

Mayan Ruins

Three major archaeological sites are accessible from Cancun:

Chichén Itzá — The most famous Mayan ruins in Mexico and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The Pyramid of Kukulcán, Great Ball Court, and Temple of Warriors are extraordinary. About 2.5 hours from Cancun. Tours include guide, cenote swim, and lunch.

Tulum — Clifftop ruins overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The setting is stunning — ancient temples on a bluff with turquoise water below. Smaller site, about 90 minutes from Cancun. Often combined with beach time, cenote swims, or Xel-Há.

Cobá — Jungle ruins where you can still climb the tallest pyramid in the Yucatán. More remote, less crowded, more adventurous feel. Bike through the jungle between temple complexes.

Island Trips

Two major Caribbean islands are easy day trips from Cancun:

Isla Mujeres — Tiny island just 20 minutes by ferry. Catamaran day trips are the most popular — sail across, snorkel the reef, enjoy open bar on the boat, then beach club time on the island. The town is walkable with shops, seafood restaurants, and a turtle sanctuary. Golf cart rentals let you explore the whole island.

Cozumel — Larger island known for world-class diving and snorkeling. Day trips include snorkeling on the Palancar and Colombia reefs, beach time, and downtown exploration. The ferry leaves from Playa del Carmen (about an hour south), but most tours include transportation from Cancun.

Holbox — Remote island on the north coast, famous for summer whale shark encounters (June–September), flamingos, and bioluminescence. Full-day trip from Cancun — long drive but worth it for the whale sharks.

Water Adventures

The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef runs right along the Cancun coast — the second-largest reef system in the world.

Snorkeling — The reef is accessible by boat in minutes. Most island trips and park visits include snorkeling. Expect to see parrotfish, angelfish, sea fans, brain coral, sea turtles, and rays.

Scuba Diving — Cancun has reef dives for all levels plus unique experiences: the MUSA Underwater Museum (submerged sculptures), cenote dives in the jungle, and bull shark dives (November–March).

Jet Skis & Parasailing — Available right from the Hotel Zone beaches. Seek & Go can arrange.

Whale Shark Encounters — Seasonal (June–September). Boats depart from Isla Mujeres for swim-with encounters alongside the largest fish in the ocean. Snorkel only. An unforgettable experience.

Jungle Tours — Speed through the Nichupté Lagoon mangroves on a two-person speedboat, then snorkel on the reef. Half-day adventure combining lagoon exploration with Caribbean snorkeling.

Evening & Nightlife

Sandos Cancun is adults-only, and the Cancun nightlife scene is legendary. Seek & Go can arrange:

Sunset Sailing — Catamaran cruises with open bar as the sun sets over the Caribbean. Some include dinner, some are pure party boats.

Xoximilco — If you want Mexican culture with your evening entertainment, this floating fiesta delivers mariachi, tequila, and tradition.

Coco Bongo — The most famous club in Cancun. Part nightclub, part Cirque du Soleil, with acrobats, performers, confetti cannons, and non-stop energy. Packages include open bar.

Dinner Cruises — Lobster dinners on a catamaran, pirate ship dinner theater, or romantic sunset cruises.
